Cuzco (Lima, Peru)

Cuzco

The city of the Incas!  What else is there to say?  Machu Picchu is considered one of the 7 Wonders in the World!  I can't even fathom how the Incans managed to transport the massive stones to build their city at the top of the mountain.  The Machu Picchu Citadel is the most famous picture around the world.  It sits at the ridge of the Urubamba Valley at around 2,400 meters (7,900 ft) above sea level.

Behind the Machu Picchu Citadel, is the Waynapicchu mountain.  That was a short but extremely fun trail to the top of the mountain.  Incredible view of the Machu Picchu Citadel from the top.  Definitely worth the hike.  The top of the Waynapicchu is at 2,677 meters (8,782 ft) above sea level.  I even tried the Stairs of Death! They are steps with nothing underneath it. Complete abyss!!! (video shown below)

(The Waynapicchu hike starts from where I pointed at and it runs all the way to the right mountain)

Say hello to my new friend!

Stairs of Death!!!πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ˜±πŸ˜±

The next day we traveled to the Rainbow Mountain.  Now that was a challenge.  Definitely my highest hike I have done so far.  Since the top of the mountain is situated at 5,036 meters (16,522 ft) above sea level, you have to be careful by not spending too much time at the top because you might faint from lack of oxygen.  If you have trouble climbing up the mountain, there are horses that you could rent to help you climb it.  The weather is unpredictable because when we started the hike it was sunny and then when we got to the top it started to get cloudy.  Once we started our descent, it started raining and then eventually turned into hail. Crazy weather!

Don't mind the outfitπŸ˜‚ What was I thinking?!?!😨😁

My new best friend!
